Description:

Capital campaigns are among the most complex undertakings a nonprofit can pursue. Unfortunately, too many organizations launch into campaign mode without first asking the hard questions: Are our plans realistic? Do we have the resources to actually run a successful campaign? And once the campaign begins, do we know what lies ahead?

The answer isn't to avoid the challenge. It's to prepare for it with the right process.

During this webinar, Kevin Wallace and Melissa Sais of Campaign Counsel will walk you through the full arc of a capital campaign, from the critical pre-campaign groundwork to the final phases of execution. You'll start by learning how to assess your organization's current and future capacity, understand the external factors that shape your readiness, and complete the needs assessment and feasibility study that every successful campaign depends on. Then you'll move into the campaign itself, exploring the five phases typical to most capital campaigns.

You'll leave with a clear, grounded understanding of what to expect at every stage and the confidence to move forward.

You'll learn how to:
  • identify why a needs assessment and feasibility study are essential before launching a campaign;
  • understand what data is gathered to establish need and feasibility;
  • know what your organization should walk away with from these pre-campaign assessments;
  • recognize what to expect from each phase of a typical capital campaign;
  • anticipate common challenges and how to overcome them; and,
  • care for donors throughout the campaign process.
Who should attend:

This webinar is ideal for nonprofit executives, development directors, and board members who are considering or actively planning a capital campaign. It is especially valuable for organizations in the early stages of campaign planning who want to build on a proven process and avoid costly missteps.
