Description:

If your organization has built its programs on public funding, you already know how to win government grants. But in today's climate, with federal and state dollars increasingly uncertain, relying on a single funding stream is a risk few nonprofits can afford. The challenge is that pivoting toward private foundation grants isn't simply a matter of submitting a different application. It's a fundamentally different game, with different rules, different relationships, and different strategies for success.

During this webinar, Eric Spioch will walk you through the key similarities and differences between public and private grants, moving stage by stage through the full grant cycle to pinpoint exactly where the two paths diverge. Whether you're fluent in public funding but new to foundation relationships, or you're simply looking to build a more resilient funding mix, this session will give you the practical knowledge you need to compete for private dollars.

You'll leave with actionable insights, downloadable resources, and templates you can put to work in your organization right away.

You'll learn how to:
  • distinguish the core differences between public and private grant processes at each stage of the grant cycle;
  • adapt your research approach to identify and evaluate private foundation prospects;
  • build relationships with program officers in the foundation world;
  • craft grant proposals that resonate with private funders;
  • manage post-award reporting and stewardship for foundation grants; and,
  • develop a diversified funding strategy that reduces your organization's reliance on government dollars.
Who should attend:

This session is ideal for development staff, grant writers, and nonprofit leaders who have a solid track record securing and managing public grants but have limited experience with private foundations. It's especially timely for human services organizations navigating uncertainty around government funding and looking to expand into foundation fundraising.

After the webinar, you'll receive:
  • slides and handouts; and,
  • a link to the webinar recording.
