The arts tend to be among the forgotten subjects in school and university - seen as a luxury in a world obsessed with technological progress and profit. But art is one of the ways we express ourselves and communicate on a level beyond the superficial. In an era where interpersonal understanding seems to be at an all time low, the importance of evocative art seems ever more relevant. But art requires skill just as much as emotion. Many potential artists will never reach said potential without an art education. And education does not come cheaply, unless a nonprofit is there to help.
