There are a wide and diverse array of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities across the United States. These communities often face unique challenges, including mental health, underrepresentation and disparities in healthcare and education access. There are many nonprofits that make it their mission to help these communities in particular. These missions are fueled by Pacific Islander and Asian grants.

These grants can be put towards all kinds of purposes. These can include aiding communities in issues relating to culturally responsive mental health, immigration, civic engagement, language education access, cultural preservation or small business development. 

There are many different organizations that might provide these grants. These include many private foundations, such as Asian American Futures or the AAPI Civic Engagement Fund. 

When drafting a Pacific Islander or Asian grant, it’s essential to prove that you understand these communities and the issues facing them. You should include relevant data on the specific challenges that your nonprofit seeks to tackle. Good places to start looking for these kinds of demographics could include the National Equity Atlas or API Data.
