Grassroots organizations are a crucial part of the nonprofit landscape. Though they draw support from local communities, they can also benefit from the support of grants as well, like any other nonprofit.

Grants for grassroot organizations can be put towards a wide range of purposes, from community organizing, to advocacy, to leadership training and legal support. There are a variety of organizations that are involved in providing grassroots grants. Examples include private foundations such as the Grassroots Exchange Fund, and community foundations such as the Fund for Southern Communities.
