Public servants like local police and fire departments are often on the front line of keeping our communities safe. However, in many areas, these first responders are suffering from a severe lack of funds - many cases becoming newsworthy. Many nonprofits have stepped up to help provide the support these first responders need. They are only able to provide this help through the usage of fire department and police grants.

This grant money can be used for a wide variety of purposes and projects. This can include the purchasing of new equipment, new training programs and hosting community outreach initiatives to increase trust between first responders and the communities they serve. Sometimes, nonprofits even use these grants to expand the emergency response network, by establishing programs like victim support services and crisis intervention programs.
