Currently in the U.S., over 7 million students are receiving some form of special education or a related service, with education for learning disabilities being the most common form. A well-rounded education is crucial to finding success, both in one's career, but also in one's life. Yet, notably, federal governmental aid for the purpose of helping special education has never met the promised targets. 

This is where nonprofits can step in to fill these gaps. Of course, they can’t do this without the funding provided by special education grants. These grants provide critical funding that can be used in a variety of ways to help students with special needs. This could be through extra personalized programming, useful technology, or specialized training for educators.
