Training programs are an essential part of the operation of any nonprofit. Staff, volunteers and even serviced communities can all benefit from the expertise and education provided by training programs. Of course, training programs aren’t free to run. 

That’s why training program grants are so important, as they can provide an essential stop-gap to get a nonprofit organization fully operational, with all its staff equipped with the necessary expertise. There are many different organizations that provide training or workforce development grants, including many private foundations such as the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. 

When drafting training program grants you need to be very clear as to how the training in question will help your nonprofit pursue its mission. Outline your objects, and then cover what the training challenges are that are preventing your team from meeting those objectives. Then you can start to cover clearly how you intend to meet those challenges, and how the funding can help.
